I have the wonderful blessing of teaching, mentoring and leading incredible world changers at Parkway Church.
In the 9 years and counting, I have been in this ministry, there is never a moment I walk out not feeling full of love despite the occasional nerve test kids might give. There are several kids of mine who I have been with from 1st grade, four of those are in this picture. Several have already graduated up.
These kids have definitely changed my world through their walk with Christ. By their encouraging words when they see I am a little down. By their hugs every Sunday. By the moments where I have to call one or two outside for a quick attitude check. By the moments they are transparent and honest concerning events in their life. My favorite moments are when we take time to use words to affirm one another. In this time there are no hard feelings, silly noises, walls are taken down and the kids are encouraged.
There might be times I want to yank my hair out but there are times they want to yank theirs out, too.
Regardless of the teacher or student position we are all there for Jesus. The simple fact that we CAN all be there for Jesus, is good news.
Today we learned about Paul and the kind of world-changing relationship he had with Jesus. The cool thing is we can have that too and do that too by sharing the love and message of Jesus.
Today's verse, “as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:20-21 ESV
