Now More Than Ever

Now more than ever...we need to keep our families safe.   Now more than ever...we need to appreciate those who are the front lines fighting for our health.  Now more than ever...we need to appreciate our educators.  You likely heard some form of these statements in the last week.

With all of us in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, now more than ever we need to check the foundation of our life.  In Matthew 7, Jesus teaches us that we can be wise and build our house on the rock or we can be foolish and build our house on the sand.  What's the difference between a wise and foolish person?  Are we building on the rock or on the sand?  Jesus gives us a simple way to test our foundation.  We build our house on the rock when we hear what He says AND put His Word's into practice.  Listening to Jesus and living what you are learning is the key to building your house on the rock.

To illustrate His point, Jesus says that when the rains come, the flood waters rise, and the wind blows one of two things will happen.  The house that was built on the sand will fall with a great crash.  The house that was built on the rock will not fall.

Because storms expose our foundation and because storms test our foundation, no more than ever, we need to build our life on the solid rock foundation of our relationship with Jesus by simply hearing what He says and doing it.
