This past Sunday, we kicked off our Revival Sunday series of worship events at Parkway Victoria and Parkway Port Lavaca. Throughout the year, we will set aside days to seek the Lord through extended worship with music, prayer, and an inspirational message at all locations.
In the Old Testament, we saw the people of God set aside days to seek the Lord. They had a day where they would seek atonement for their sins. They had days where they would restore their fellowship with God. They had days of confession and repentance as God's Word was read.
Now, as believers in Jesus, we aren’t limited to special days and times, we pursue Him daily. Every day is revival day if we pursue Jesus personally. Every day is a day to be broken and rebuilt by His Word. Every day is a day to confess your sins and to thank God for the atonement for your sins that Jesus, alone, provides. We don't have to wait for special days to see God move and we don't have to live in search of the next spiritual high. Every day can be a revival day. Read it in Romans 12:1-2.
1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. ROMANS 12:1-2
How do you know if you are pursuing Jesus? Look at the pattern set in Romans 12:1-2.
Because God has been so good to us in His mercy, we get to experience Him and grow in Him every day. In the Old Testament, the sacrifices died to make people right with God. Now, we are living sacrifices because God has made us right with himself. You are a living sacrifice so live for the Lord Jesus!
