40 PROMISES FROM THE BIBLE

Promises of God’s Love and Faithfulness

God loves you deeply.
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers... will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39)
God is always faithful.
"The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does." (Psalm 145:13)
God will never leave you.
"Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." (Hebrews 13:5b)
God’s mercies are new every morning.
"Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." (Lamentations 3:22-23)
God delights in you.
"The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing." (Zephaniah 3:17)

Promises of Guidance

God will direct your path.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5-6)
God gives wisdom generously.
"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." (James 1:5)
God lights your way.
"Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." (Psalm 119:105)
God teaches and counsels.
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." (Psalm 32:8)
God will guide continually.
"The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame." (Isaiah 58:11)

Promises of Provision

God will meet all your needs.
"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)
God provides good things.
"The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing." (Psalm 23:1)
God provides rest.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)
God provides strength.
"I can do all this through him who gives me strength." (Philippians 4:13)
God supplies peace.
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." (John 14:27)

Promises of Salvation

God forgives sins.
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)
God gives eternal life.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23)
God’s grace is sufficient.
"But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’" (2 Corinthians 12:9)
You are a new creation.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Nothing can separate you from God’s love.
"For I am convinced... neither height nor depth... will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39)

Promises of Protection

God is your refuge.
"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." (Psalm 46:1)
God will fight for you.
"The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." (Exodus 14:14)
God protects you from harm.
"The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life." (Psalm 121:7)
God gives you victory.
"But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 15:57)
God is with you in trouble.
"He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him." (Psalm 91:15)

Promises of Strength

God renews your strength.
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary." (Isaiah 40:31)
God is your strength and shield.
"The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me." (Psalm 28:7)
God gives strength to the weary.
"He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak." (Isaiah 40:29)
God’s power is made perfect in weakness.
"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." (2 Corinthians 12:9)
You can do all things through Christ.
"I can do all this through him who gives me strength." (Philippians 4:13)

Promises of Peace

God gives peace that transcends understanding.
"And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:7)
God brings perfect peace.
"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you." (Isaiah 26:3)
Jesus leaves you peace.
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you." (John 14:27)
God is your peace.
"Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way." (2 Thessalonians 3:16)
God will crush Satan under your feet.
"The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet." (Romans 16:20)

Additional Promises

God’s plans for you are good.
"For I know the plans I have for you... plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)
God is your helper.
"The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?" (Hebrews 13:6)
God will never fail you.
"For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you... to give you victory." (Deuteronomy 20:4)
God gives abundant life.
"I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (John 10:10)
God works all things for good.
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him." (Romans 8:28)
