After believing in Jesus as their Savior, your child's next step is to go public with their faith through baptism. When believers are baptized, they demonstrate the new life they have in Jesus and they let everyone know that they are following Him. We encourage everyone who has believed in Jesus to show it by getting baptized.
We see the pattern of belief and then baptism throughout the Bible.

41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three
thousand were added to their number that day. Acts 2:41
12 But when they believed Philip as he proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Acts 8:12

Getting baptized after believing is a key step for your child because they are taking their next step and are doing what Jesus commanded for His followers to do.
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
There is no age restriction when it comes to getting baptized. If your child has believed in Jesus, and it is their choice to get baptized, let them and celebrate this moment with them. Make their baptism a huge deal. Invite your friends and family. Throw a party after church because your child has taken their next step with Jesus.
Some parents are concerned about seeing the kids get baptized too young because they may want to do it again when they are older. While that is a valid concern, be very careful as you talk to your kids. You would hate for your child to get the message that they can't follow Jesus until they are older. The foundation of obedience and dependence that they are setting today is what they will live tomorrow. If they want to take a step to obey Jesus now, even if they are young, cheer them on.
